Built almost 160 years ago, the Falcon’s Nest Hotel is a typical Victorian seaside hotel with a great historical feel.
Breakfast is served in a grand old Victorian high ceilinged dining room, and you still get the same spectacular sea views from our conservatory that the original Victorian visitors appreciated.
Standing the test of time
The Falcon’s Nest is still family owned and has survived the fate of all the other hotels in Port Erin. You may be surprised to know that while many Victorian hotels were built in Port Erin, they have all been and gone. The Falcon’s Nest was the first, and is in fact the last – the last one still standing and telling it’s tale. Read Our Story.
Port Erin’s ‘Grande Dame’
The building has undergone many changes over the years to keep up with modern tastes, while still withholding many of it’s original features and charm. All 39 rooms are en suite, many with modern bathrooms and fittings and more recently modern disabled toilets and baby changing facilities have been added, as well as changes planned to create accessible entrance ways in keeping with today’s demand.
The building might be described a ‘Grande Dame’ – who shows her age in places and has what you might describe as a few quirks. We may not have a lift to all floors, but the many corridors and stairways are the very same that Victorian holiday makers used over a century and a half ago! You might say they comprise an integral part of the ‘Falcon’s Nest Experience’!
A part of Port Erin’s Heritage
We are proud of our history and heritage and have various displays around the hotel and welcome enquiries about our past. Visit our History page to find out a little about the lives of past landlords and landladies, local landowners, the people of Port Erin, and of course, the people who have visited.
